Adding a few coves cuts to a large dish can define its elegant lines. Here, the design also helped avoid some unsightly bark occlusions. The tree, from which this bowl was made, served for swinging; just by the road. Perhaps some of the shimmering figure developed from all that hard work. Thinly turned, light and airy.
My finishes bring ones touch closer to the wood. This oil/wax finish will dull overtime when in contact with moisture. But being used is a good thing.
