I turned this bowl of freshly burl in a thin manner which gave chance for movement. The large displays of color are ghosts of burl points, painted by fungi, while sitting at the bottom of a tree; macerating in the soil. Placed on a red barked branch plinth, it becomes all a pose. Bowl removes for serving.
My finishes bring ones touch closer to the wood. This oil/wax finish will dull overtime when in contact with moisture. But being used is a good thing.
