Black Locust Burl Bowl

This Black Locust became a huge canopy for a small a Seattle Backyard. The trunk , completely burled, was used to make beautiful table tops. The two Wenge "ties" in this large bowl were employed to hold together a bark-void while it was turned. A topping of bark graces a thin layer of light sapwood which then leads to burls and beautiful wavy grain.
